How do I know if I’m using my air up® bottle correctly?
air up® works a little differently from a regular bottle – and that’s what makes it so special. Not sure if you’re using it correctly? Here’s what to look out for:
😋 You can taste something… but you’re just drinking water
That’s the key sign that it’s working. If your water suddenly tastes like Cherry Kola, Peach, or your favourite pod – even though nothing has been added to the water – that’s thanks to your sense of smell.
Why?
The flavour comes from your sense of smell, not from the water itself.
The scent travels from your mouth to your nose, and your brain perceives it as flavour.
✨ You hear and feel bubbles while drinking
Completely normal – and important for how the system works!
What’s happening?
Tiny air bubbles carry the scent.
They mix with the water, enter your mouth, and travel to your nose.
Remember: No bubbles = no scent = no flavour.
🧴 Your pod is properly activated
There are two types of mouthpiece:
PullUp Mouthpiece
Pull the pod up until you see a small gap between the pod and the bottle.
This means the pod is active.
Want to switch back to plain water? Push it back down.
ActiveOn Mouthpiece
Activates automatically when you open the lid.
To deactivate it, gently pull the pod upwards.
Tip: Check that your pod is positioned correctly – if it isn’t activated, there’s no scent and therefore no flavour.
🔁 Is your pod still working?
One pod is designed for at least 5 litres of water – that’s around 8 refills of a 600 ml bottle.
Does the flavour gradually become more subtle? This can happen during use.
If the pod no longer has a noticeable scent when you remove it from the bottle and you no longer experience flavour while drinking, you can replace the pod.
