When you sip from your air up bottle, the flavored air from the pods travels through your mouth and up to your nose via the retronasal pathway. This pathway allows scent molecules to reach the olfactory receptors in your nasal cavity from the back of your mouth.
Unlike sniffing through your nose (orthonasal olfaction), this backward route enhances the flavor experience. How long do air up pods last?
One single air up Pod works its magic for at least 5 liters of water! Typically, you'll be enjoying that delightful flavor for about five days with our 600ml bottle. Cheers to that!
What exactly is in the pod?
The scents inside our pods come from natural ingredients. Fruits, spices, herbs, that kind of thing. Then these scents are applied to an air-permeable material we call ‘the fleece’. No rubbish here—just natural goodness.
Where do we get the ingredients from?
Whilst we can’t spill all our secrets, we can say that all our scents come from a top-notch manufacturer who extracts them from natural sources. Our scent creation team then crafts a variety of unique flavors from these ingredients, and voilà – a Flavor Pod is created!
Also, we’re very proud to confirm that our pods are suitable for our vegan and vegetarian friends, too.
How do I prevent my bottle from leaking?
Our bottle has a pressure valve at the mouthpiece, so you can drink without stopping. To avoid leaks, sip without tipping! Just keep the bottle upright as if you were drinking out of a glass with a straw. Water could also leak out if the pod is not attached to the mouthpiece, or if the cap is not tightly closed.
Can you use air up with a blocked nose?
Well, it’s kinda like trying to dance without the music. The magic of Air Up is all in the scent, so if your nose is taking a day off, the flavor might feel a little, well, muted. When your retronasal olfaction is on pause, the taste experience doesn’t hit the same high notes.
Why is my air up bubbling?
Our Air Up Bottle uses scent-infused pods to create a flavor experience. That’s why when you drink from our bottle, it’s totally expected for small air bubbles to be included with each sip.
